Back in October last year, The Best Friend suggested we book for the 10th Anniversary weekend of Gogo Getaway. Having waited almost eight months for it to arrive, that weekend has been and gone. The venue was in a lovely hotel set in gorgeous grounds, around 30 miles from West London. There’s been a lot of building since my last visit in 2009, and the Gogo Getaway was housed exclusively in a separate learning space.
The main crop room was fantastically light and airy, and each delegate had plenty of personal space. The Gogo Getaway organisers had gone the extra mile with all the added fun touches.
Even before the weekend officially began, I knew it would be a hugely successful 48 hours … The Best Friend and I were sitting in the hotel bar with Prosecco and cheesecake, as you do at 4pm on a Friday afternoon, when someone came over and said, “Hi Ruth, we’ve never met but I’m going to give you a hug! I’ve been reading your blog for years!” How brilliant was that! And it just so happened that she and I hit it off and laughed a lot together for the remainder of our stay.
Everyone I met was super friendly, with one girl remembering me from the very first Gogo Getaway in June 2008. All of them are talented scrapbookers and here’s a few suggestions for Instagram feeds:
