September means that the Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness is approaching. It also means that Shimelle is running her annual class, Learn Something New Every Day.
As with the previous few years, I’m recording what I’ve learned throughout September here.

Day 11 | It’s okay to have a day where you don’t learn anything 🙂
Day 12 | A visit our local recycling centre now has to be booked in advance
Day 13 | The fortitude of our new King and the Princess Royal has been nothing short of incredible
Day 14 | I was one of six million users who helped to crash the FlightRadar24 App, after attempting to track the Royal Air Force C17 bringing Her Majesty home to London
Day 15 | The sheer number of people willing to queue for many hours in order to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth is simply astonishing
I think we can excuse you one day off on Day 11 😉
This project always interests me as it makes you realise that we are constantly learning new things, you just don’t always realise it!
Booking for the recycling centre? I’ve not heard of that since lockdown days!

Our council closed our nearest recycling centre late last year and sold the land. Now our borough has just one main site, hence the booking system.

I too admired the bravery of the King & Princess Royal, along with other members of the family to be required to mourn so publicly. The queues for any part of the Queen’s laying in state & funeral were so respectful & demonstrated that. A day off of learning probably was a good thing during this time … a recharge of sorts 🙂

The whole mourning period seems really surreal.
