I gave Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II my allegiance when I joined the Royal Air Force in 1985.

She was and will always be my sovereign lady.

I cannot believe I have woken to a world without Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth reigning. Even now the tears flow.

  I just watched the King and Queen arrive at Buckingham Palace and actually started when someone in the crowd called out God Save the King!

She definitely was one of a kind, she truly followed her promise to serve her country right to the end. Even though we all knew she could not go on forever, it was still a shock to hear of her death. How thankful her family must be to know that she was active and happy right up to the day she died and then to leave them peacefully in her sleep. The end of an era.
