September means that the Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness is approaching. It also means that Shimelle is running her annual class, Learn Something New Every Day.
As with the previous few years, I’m recording what I’ve learned throughout September here.
Day 1: Leaving school uniform shopping until the end of the school holidays doesn’t work. The Boy Child will, without doubt, have outgrown trousers, shirts and jumpers. Uniform suppliers will have sold out online and you will have to venture into an actual store. And return home empty-handed.
Day 2: An hour and a half by myself in Kew Gardens is a gift.
Day 3: The official school uniform supplier should have been my first port of call, despite being that little bit more expensive. If I’d gone to them first and in August, I wouldn’t have waited in the queue for 2 hours and 10 minutes.
Day 4: Bacon rolls and lemon drizzle cake are always a good idea after a 2.5 hour dog walk. 🙂
Day 5: Puberty meeting autism does not make for a happy household.
