September means that the Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness is approaching. It also means that Shimelle is running her annual class, Learn Something New Every Day.
Like the last few years, I’m recording what I’ve learned throughout September here.

Day 16: It’s okay not to learn something new every day. 🙂

Day 17: My haemoglobin level was one point under the required level for donating a pint of blood. Cue eating iron-rich foods and trying again in 3 months.

Day 18: The humble haricot bean is not native to the UK. It’s the staple of that perennial favourite, beans on toast, and yet every single bean has to be imported, the majority imported from Canada.

Day 19: The reason that I couldn’t find a particular photo in my PC’s photo archive was because I hadn’t actually downloaded it from my ‘phone.

Day 20: The parcel you are waiting for will always, always, always be delivered moments after you’ve nipped out for something.

  1. Paul is having similar blood donating issues – so frustrating. I did smile when I saw Day 20’s lesson – so true!

  2. All good things to know. Day 18 – you’re welcome (col). Day 20 is an issue here with porch thieves prowling the neighbourhoods following the UPS van.
