With less than a month until the beginning of December, I’m planning this year’s December Daily album.  This will my tenth year in a row documenting the run up to Christmas Day, and it’s still my favourite project.  I toyed with the idea of using a Traveler’s Notebook, but in the end settled on an album from Simple Stories in 6×8 and an assortment of page protectors.IMG_6188I’m also using the Holly Jolly set from Becky Higgins, topped up with whatever I find in my Christmas scrapping storage box.IMG_6189.JPGThe first few pages follow a similar format to previous years – a personal manifesto, the arrival of Elvis the Elf , The Boy Child’s letter to Santa and our annual non-Christmas Christmas Drinks Party.  After that, well, there’s Cranberry Sauce making, Christmas window displays and the arrival of Norway’s gift to the UK.  You’ll have noticed that at this foundation stage, I’ll add post-it notes as a reminder for a specific day.IMG_6190.JPGThere’s also a few random tracing paper envelopes filled with sequins.  I’ll add a small photo and the date.  {I machine stitch a margin before punching the holes to stop the smaller sequins falling out of the holes.}  And that will be it.  Because, you know, sequins.

I’ll also be dipping into Shimelle‘s annual online class, Journal Your Christmas, if I find myself running low on ideas and/or inspiration.

Will you be documenting the festive season?

  1. Your fountain pages look good – like the sparkle of the sequins. Your post today gets me all convinced that I should do another December Daily album. I should sign my name today as waffler …

  3. You are so organised … I did a homemade one last year and looking back am so glad I did – but with the way things are here, I am really not sure I will manage it. Lovely to see yours looking so bright and almost-ready-to-go.
