If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I was in New York City recently.

Measuring 1,401 feet tall, One Vanderbilt is the tallest commercial skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan (find it at 45 E42nd Street) and among the top 30 tallest buildings in the world. SUMMIT One Vanderbilt was conceived as an New York City immersive art experience that compels visitors to question their perception of the built environment, the natural world, and sensorial reality.

I visited for opening, 9am, on a sunny morning and I loved it! The installation is spread over three floors and the views were breathtaking. The glass floor was scarily fun, but having gone up that high, there was no way I wasn’t standing on it.

Mirrored floors (visitors wear overshoes) and helium-filled silver balloons add to the experience.

I think that SUMMIT might now be my new favourite thing about New York City. 🙂

The phrase  “You’re a (better) braver (man) woman than I am, Gunga Din” springs to mind. Spectacular views.
