The grimness continued with a astonishing threat from the EU. I don’t usually swear when scrapbooking but, really …? It’s paired with grief at the loss of a wonderful man.

I included Captain Sir Tom’s obituary and a photo of Number 10 with the Union flags at half-mast. ๐ฆ

I also included a cartoon and a brilliantly funny card I received from Alison.

A spot of positivity was required.

Ten million vaccinations is worth reporting. As is some cautiously optimistic good news.

So much to record on these pages. Along with all the upsetting news it is really uplifting to see that piece of happy mail!

A hugely welcome piece of Happy Mail! ๐

I think your thoughts about the EU’s tantrum of a tariff on vaccines is justified; I expressed the same sentiments when hearing the news. And your Feb 9th Rant looks very similar to mine re: Canada’s “new” rules about travelers, which will include our Snow Birds (seniors with homes in Florida, returning on mass in March). I also shed tears for Captain Sir Tom. Thank goodness for happy mail.

Indeed … the threat from the EU really left me momentarily speechless … and that’s not like at all. ๐

Here’s another that was glad the EU backtracked. What were they thinking? They did themselves no favours :(. Love your happy mail – that made ME smile today! One of the things that strikes me, looking at your lovely pages, is how fast things can change … and how there ought to be a public forum for us all to uptick your rants! There are so many of us querying government decisions and yet they never seem to be held to account.

You know, I thought there’d be fewer entries by now, but you’re right, the pace of change and back-tracking means I’ve been adding things every few days. I think I’ll end up with Volume 3! ๐

I love how you’ve documented and saved all this. So interesting and will be in the future too! I did an album on the pandemic for 2020 and have more to say in 2021. This is the first time in a long time that I’ve done a chronological album. I’ve actually enjoyed it. Definitely a departure from my “moments” style of scrapbooking.

Thanks. ๐ Our albums will be so interesting to look back on – even in just a year or two. Wouldn’t it great if we could compare journals in person! ๐
