The Boy Child and I sat down and looked through his current scrapbook (I think it’s Volume 6) and I was shocked to see that I hadn’t added anything since our road trip to Normandy last October. I asked him what he wanted me to add and his first suggestion was … Christmas.
I turned to Shimelle‘s 4×6 Photo Love class from several years ago for inspiration and constructed a fold-out mini book to hold six photos and a journaling spot. The patterned paper is from Doodlebug‘s 2018 Christmas Town range.

The Boy Child’s next suggestion for what to add was … homeschooling. I adapted a design by Nathalie, which I saw in the current edition of Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine. The patterned paper is from Doodlebug’s School Days range.
What have you been creating?
It’s interesting to see what suggestions he has for what is included in the scrapbook. I really enjoyed that online class with Shimelle, it was such an inspiration for different way of adding several photos to one page. Lovely layouts!

I love that he’s now adding suggestions … but disappointed that he still doesn’t show any sign of wanting to make his own scrapbook page.

Ah Christmas memories … I like those papers you used. At least TBC hasn’t said the traditional teen response, “what ever …” so some interest has been planted (col).
I often struggle using multiply patterns on a page, but your Christmas one, they are all connected, so it works so well. The advantage of buying a collection rather than 1 or 2 papers; lesson learned.

I didn’t buy paper packs for a long time either – but some ranges, like those from Doodlebug, cry out to be bought as a set. Using patterns in large blocks is still something I’m nervous about!
