For the Love of Books | Currently Reading January 2023

The Love of My Other Life by C.J. Connelly | paperback | I received this for Christmas | I quite enjoyed this, but found the plot a little confusing at times.

The People on Platform Five by Clare Pooley | Kindle | A group of disparate people are thrown together and gradually become friends as their lives change for the better.

I loved, loved, loved this and highly recommend! Pooley also wrote The Authenticity Project.

Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan | Kindle | This was a beautiful read about love that stands against all of life’s challenges and deals with topics of loss and betrayal in a careful and consider manner. An early contender for my Favourites of the Year list.

The School for Good Mothers by Jessamine Chan | Kindle | A taut and explosive take on the cult of motherhood and the notion of what makes a good mother. This isn’t always an easy read, by any stretch of the imagination, but it drew me in. I was disappointed by the ending.

Fun fact: recommended by me and one Barack Obama.

  1. If People on Platform Five involves a grape, then I have on order (seems a title change was in order for North America). As always appreciate recommendations & reviews.
