It was a week of mixed weather, the end of term and Australians coming to stay.

- I went to the salon to have my eyebrows done
- I developed a hacking cough. Three lateral flow tests says it isn’t Covid
- We were saddened to learn of the death of Paul O’Grady – he came into our home every Sunday afternoon for 14 years
- The Boy finished work experience
- The Brainy One and I had a FaceTime call with Australia
- My hair appointment was cancelled and rearranged for late April
- I accepted an invitation to go to the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf in September
- School finished for the Easter holidays
- The Brainy One and The Boy had their hair cut
- We met up with my sister-in-love to walk our dogs and eat hot cross buns
- Our Australian visitors arrived
What a great opportunity to go to the Invictus games again. It must be so inspiring to see the events in person, I bet the atmosphere is amazing.
Wasn’t it sad to hear of the death of Paul O’Grady? I loved his programmes from Battersea and I read that donations to their charity have really increased since the news was announced.
I hope you are feeling a lot better this week and ready to tackle the first week of the Easter holidays.

So sorry to read your are poorly … we have just emerged from a six-week virus which left us with terrible coughs (and negative Covid tests). My view is that if it wasn’t Covid, it was a close country cousin. There must be hybrid bugs around by now, surely? For what it’s worth, I found steaming with Olbas Oil really helpful. What a great trip to have in your diary … Hoping your hair lasts for you – I hate it when there’s a very long gap between appointments!

I think there are definitely Covid cousins out and about – do hope you are now fully on the mend.

Hopefully you will be over your cough soon. This side of the pond there is also a coughing virus going around along with cases of whooping cough! It all makes me want to retreat to myself again. How lovely to have your Australian friends arrive & bring the lost letter. You will be having quite the summer of adventures & travel this year – attending the Invictus Games will be a treat for sure.

Great blog post! It sounds like you had a busy week with lots of different things going on. I was particularly interested to hear about your upcoming trip to the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf. Can you share more about what inspired you to accept the invitation and what you’re looking forward to most about the games?
