A friend and I treated ourselves to a Festive Afternoon Tea recently and it was fabulous! We went to the Corinthia Hotel, which is two minutes from Embankment Tube Station.

The service was a little fussy for my tastes, but the presentation and the attention to detail were both faultless.

There is no denying that Afternoon Tea in a Central London hotel is an expensive treat, but guests can find that three or four hours have passed before they know it. Both my friend and I enjoy the opportunity to sit back, relax, talk about everything and nothing, and laugh a lot … all while eating delicious finger sandwiches and tiny cakes.

That looks delicious! Why does a proper afternoon tea fill you up as much as a proper meal? I can’t think of a better way to spend a few hours pre Christmas!

It was and supper was not needed later that evening!

How wonderfully festive; from the decorations, festive table settings & two divinely seasonal ladies. So worth the expensive IMO. I chuckled out loud when I heard my self say – “that’s an impressive mirror glaze on the joy petit four”. Too much holiday Mary Berry.

Haha, that’s right up there with quoting Paul Hollywood’s dislike of a soggy bottom!
