September meant that the Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness was approaching. It also meant that Shimelle was running her annual class, Learn Something New Every Day.
As with the previous few years, I’ve recorded what I learned throughout September here.

Day 26 | It might be time for socks during the day
Day 27 | We may have been given the incorrect deadline submission date for The Boy’s Post-16 options
Day 28 | The UK Government appears to have seriously misjudged the international response to its proposed unfunded tax cuts
Day 29 | The warmest room in our house during the day is our loft office
Day 30 | Our local pub is almost empty at lunchtime
We’ve met friends for midweek lunch a few times recently and it seems that wherever we went we were the only people there. Definitely no need to book a table in advance!
How annoying to have been given wrong info re deadline dates – as if there isn’t enough stress already in that process.
Let’s not dwell too long over recent decisions made by our government 😦

The date thing turned out to be a farce – I was told that “we (Children’s Services) just thought we’d get on a jump start on where parents might choose. It won’t be cast in stone and you can name somewhere else in your Annual Review” … I was so cross!

OH dear about the deadlines, or was in the opposite, there really is more time?! I am often surprised by how warm a room can get when the sun is full on, the cats adore “sun puddles”.

Our loft office and the library are definitely the warmest rooms in our house during the day.
See my comment to Deb re deadline dates …
