The Phoenix Garden is a community garden located just behind the Phoenix Theatre on Charing Cross Road. Designed to give people working or living in the West End a green retreat, it offers the chance to see some nature, and is a great spot to retreat to when the summer heat starts to make life uncomfortable.

Started in 1984, the garden is still maintained by the same volunteer organisation that created it on the site of an old car park, which had previously been a Second World War bombsite.
If you’re thinking that the garden looks familiar, it’s because you’ve seen it in the lovely festive film Last Christmas, which stars Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding.
What a pretty space. Last Christmas has become one of our top Christmas feel good movies.
