Me on Monday | 13 June

It was a week of Covid-19 isolation.

  • The Brainy One and The Boy were self-isolating
  • The Brainy One’s jury service was deferred until later this year
  • The Boy tested negative of day 5, The Brainy One was still positive
  • The Boy returned to school after 2 consecutive negative tests. He was sent home again before lunch, as he found it all a little too much
  • I weeded the beds in the back garden
  • I had my haircut
  • The Brainy One tested positive on day 6
  • I went to the salon to have my eyebrows done
  • The Boy and I went out for coffee
  • The Boy, Tilly and I went to see this year’s Serpentine Pavilion in Hyde Park – more on that soon
  • I have all but finished the Jersey Journal
  • The Brainy One tested positive on day 9

  1. TBO is going to be so pleased when he finally only sees one line on that test stick! Pleased to hear that TB had an early release but it sounds as if it may take a little while to get back into normal routines for him. It would seem that you managed to evade it 🙂

    1. I’m still testing negative, thankfully. The Boy did appear to recover quickly, but it obviously took more out of him than we thought. TBO is ready to be testing negative!

  2. That is SO discouraging TBO is/was still testing positive. I’ve heard that some have a long period of shedding the virus & yet are not really active. Is there a recommendation that if still positive after so many days, you get a visit with the doctor in person? Your family unit is a study in the virus of why some don’t get it (You), some recover quickly with little to no symptoms (TB) & some go on with the virus (TBO). I also hope that there is a reduction on the number of times you make a trip to the isolation ward. Hopefully this week a return to school schedules for TB will go ahead.

    1. My understanding is that after 10 days, we can consider TBO to be no longer infectious – the government’s guidelines don’t appear to be that clear.
I said something similar to TBO just last night about how the virus has affected our family – it’s been really interesting for me to see how the virus has worked (or not) across the three of us.
The main thing is that no-one we spent time with at the jubilee party or my sister-in-love has subsequently tested positive. Of course, I can’t speak for the other pax on the Jersey to Poole ferry!
