How I Told The Story | Then and Now

I was introduced to scrapbooking by a friend during our stay in Australia in late 2005. Once back in London in early 2006, I was eager to embrace my new discovery.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I really wasn’t very good back then. I didn’t know there was an online scrapbooking community, I’d never heard of Shimelle and I didn’t know what a crop was.

But I did know about Creative Memories.

Take the layouts above. There’s no purposeful design whatsoever. 🙂 There’s no journaling, not even a date. My plan appears to have been simple – scatter a few photos at, you know, funky angles, add a poorly placed title and call it done.

The layout above uses paper and embellishments from my favourite, Doodlebug Design. Extra photos and two journaling cards are added by the inclusion of a 6×12 page protector. I believe that the original design is from Shimelle’s 4×6 Photo Love class.

I know which spread I prefer. 🙂

  1. Took me a moment to figure out that there was the half page in between. Yes your style certainly has changed & developed over the years. The 2022 version certainly has a better flow to it & lots more details about the event.
