This is the 4th year in a row that I’ve set myself the challenge of not buying anything I don’t truly need for a whole month. It helps that February is the shortest month of the year. 🙂
On my list of things not to buy are:
- Teas and/or coffees in cafés
- clothes
- books and magazines
- scrapbooking supplies 😦
- sweets and chocolate (which I shall most likely continue with as we move into March and the beginning of Lent)
I’ll be reporting back here, keeping myself accountable, towards the end of the month.
Good luck. I know you’ve had success before so I’m in no doubt you’ll be a master FFer. In my own efforts of reducing, I’ll join you in FF, there’s no point under minding all my work to do.
Valentine’s Day, will there be a free pass on the chocolate or does it not count if someone else buys the chocolate …asking for a friend?

Ah, I didn’t factor in Valentines Day at all, but I should expect that day to come with a free pass!

Oh that a good idea, and usually my approach in January. Unnecessarily, I spent a buck at the craft store yesterday – amazing restraint on my part. And I have sworn off book buying too, since my little splurge at year-end, but my BIL returned a couple of books to me yesterday and sent 5 more for me and hubby. And it’s only the first day of the month.

I confess to sneaking in an order for stash on the 30 January!
Stash and books are my weakness – I have more than enough books waiting to be read to see me to the end of the month and beyond.

I’m also participating in Frugal February. This will be my second year. I was successful with doing it last year and loved seeing my savings for the month that I decided to try it again this year. And, my whole family is on board. The hardest part for me is books. I love to read, and there are so many great books coming out this month.

Books, it is hard to resist their pull, isn’t it.

Yes, it is. So, I keep a running wish list of books I want to buy in the future. Thankfully, my birthday was in January and I received a bunch of books as gifts. I can make it through February.
