Three more 12×12 pages – these are from the New Zealand leg:
Friends took us on an overnight road trip to Rotorua and en route we stopped at a small place called Waitomo. It appears to be famous for two things – its glow worms and Rottweiler Angora Giant Rabbits … 🙂

Did you notice the small Kiwi? He’d been on the original scrapbook page and I felt he needed to be on the new one as well. 🙂

I took the photo of the cave from the Internet because when we visited in January 2006, photography was not allowed. Sitting in a boat … in a flooded cave … in the dark … looking at the ceiling … was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
This page sits alongside a divided pocket page about the caves.

After the caves, we stopped at the side of the road and went into a shed. The shed turned out to be a shearing shed and the animals being shorn were the biggest rabbits I have ever seen. It was also one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
The rabbits are shorn every three months to prevent them over heating and once shorn, they also get to mate. 🙂 The rabbits did not appear to be in any distress during the shearing process.
This page also sits alongside a divided pocket page about the rabbits.

This page is self-explanatory – The Brainy One and me at the top of Auckland’s Sky Tower. It was the first time we’d ever stood on a glass floor. Our friend waited at the bottom because she’s afraid of heights. (This is an exact copy of the Melbourne spread – I had duplicate stash (Pinkfresh Studio’s Days of Splendor range) and really liked the finished design. 🙂 )
I guess those rabbits were happy to be sheared as they knew what was coming afterwards 😉
What an amazing trip you had – so many happy memories. This is going to be a fantastic album!

Fabulous re-made pages & I like that embellishment from the original was kept – he’s quite interesting as are the tales of the large rabbits. I’d be on the ground with your friend gazing up at the Sky Tower.

That wee Kiwi was too cute not to reuse!
I take it you’ve not been to the to of the CN Tower in Toronto?

LOL – I have been to the CN Tower, even went up to the top but not out on the deck. I don’t think my back left contact with the wall at any time!
