In late 2005, The Brainy One and I left London for a 6-weeks-long round-the world delayed honeymoon. It was on this trip that I was introduced to scrapbooking (by K in Australia) and our subsequent scrapbook was my very first attempt at pairing photos with paper and journaling. Thank you, Creative Memories.
Looking back sixteen years later and I felt compelled to re-do the whole album in a Project Life style, with added 12×12 pages here and there. 🙂 I started with photos from Singapore that I felt deserved more than a divided page protector. (More on those Project Life pages coming soon.)
The above design is adapted from one sent in a box of stash and page kits I received recently from Crop in the Country (as I was unable/unwilling to attend in person this year). I love how the flower embellishments match the colours in my photos. This page will sit side-by-side with a divided page protector in the album.
I didn’t bother with a title for the above page, as it’s clear in the photo where we were. The journaling is tucked behind the photo, as I had quite a lot to say. I really like the simplicity of this page.
The final 12×12 featuring Singapore is of the Commonwealth War Cemetery at Kranji and I’m including the original page for comparison. One thing I’m grateful for in the original album is the amount of journaling I did.

Now that was a delay worth the wait; 6 weeks around the world. I like the new & improved pages, especially the first one with the little tears in the paper .

I have taken a momentary break from scrapbooking to complete this little pumpkin collage project…https://www.facebook.com/themakerbeehive/videos/151490133817501 Just about have it finished and will return to scrapbooking. Want to try your trick of journaling and tucking it behind a photo or bit of embellishment. Do you order your photos to be processed in different sizes? For example, the square photos. Did you cut them down or have them printed that size? Really like the white dimensional lettering and the design of each of the pages.

I use a home printer, currently an Epson XP-760, which has the option to print a photo in multiple sizes. The downside is that you have multiple sizes of the same image on one sheet of 6×4 photo paper, so it’s a little wasteful.

Thank you. That’s the issue I have if I order smaller sized prints at Walmart or Walgreens. I get too many of them.

Your pages are a visual delight – I always love a simple structure, and you’ve added lots of colour and interest. I admire your ability to redo old albums; I find it hard enough to keep up with the present! It must be lovely too reconnecting with happy memories.

I’m hardly doing any ‘current’ scrapbooking, so it’s been enjoyable to look back and change the early pages/albums.
