Learn Something New Every Day | Days 11-15

September means that the Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness is approaching. It also means that Shimelle is running her annual class, Learn Something New Every Day.
As with the previous few years, I’m recording what I’ve learned throughout September here.

Day 11: The events of twenty years ago still make me extremely emotional.

Day 12: The return to the cinema was much less stressful than anticipated.

Day 13: Brunch at the garden centre is a great way to begin the week. 🙂

Day 14: A heavy downpour will have no regard for an umbrella!

Day 15: I have no regrets over buying that dress; in real life, it’s absolutely beautiful (and I’m not one to gush over clothing).

  1. Great to read that you are out and about, and enjoying social events … That dress is very pretty, and good to read that it has been locally made and those making it are being given opportunities to work. (Hoping they’re also very well paid).

  2. I probably have 3 umbrellas but never have one where I put my hands on it when we have a rainstorm. Then, yesterday, my daughter asked me to pick up my granddaughter from school. There was a threat of rain. She handed me the most enormous umbrella, just in case. Got out of the car at the school and no rain in sight, so left the umbrella in the car. Walked up to the school, grabbed my pumpkin granddaughter, then the bottom fell out…and it poured down rain!!! It was kind of fun.

Glad you have big plans for that beautiful dress. I remember buying a dusty purple chiffon cocktail dress when I was in my early 20s that was waaaay out of my price point. And something for which I NEVER had an occasion to wear. But I loved the way the dress looked and made me feel. Maybe that was enough.

    1. I’ve also bought clothes that I’ve loved and never subsequently worn – one dress was in my wardrobe for about 10 years, complete with price tag still attached!
