Favourite Books Making It Onto The Screen

I’ve been keeping an eye out for favourite books being made in to a film or TV series. Here’s a short list of what I’ll be hoping to watch:

Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid: Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late ’60s, sneaking into clubs and sleeping with rock stars. By the time she’s 20, both her voice and her beauty are getting noticed. At the same time, a band called The Six is also gaining fame. A producer then realizes that the key to supercharged success is to put the two together, and what happens next will become the stuff of legend.

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens: For years, rumors of the “Marsh Girl” have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So when a handsome local is found dead, the locals suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. Kya has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. When two young men from town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new life—until the unthinkable happens.

The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah: In 1939 France, Vianne says goodbye to her husband as he leaves to fight the Nazis, and then she is forced to live with the enemy to keep her family alive. Her young and rebellious sister, Isabelle, falls completely in love with a young partisan man, only to be betrayed—leaving her to join the Resistance and risk her life time and time again.

Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid: This story is about a group of four famous siblings who are the children of a legendary singer. They’re known for their annual end-of-summer party, but with each sibling dealing with their own personal struggles, this year’s party gets out of control. You’ll get secrets, drama, and everything else you love about Taylor Jenkins Reid novels.

  1. I’d like to see the two Fanning sisters acting together in The Nightingale. And just based on weird things but wouldn’t Daisy Jones & The Six be fab with Daisy Edgar Jones starring!?!

  2. Oh I love The Nightingale book so I will look for that movie. Daisy Jones and Where The Crawdads Sing have both been on my TBR list forever. I guess I’d better get to them.

  3. Oh, I hadn’t heard they were doing The Nightingale – I read that a few years back & will look forward to the movie. I read Daisy Jones last year after your recommendation and am glad to see the mini-series will be out soon. And I read Malibu Rising this summer.
