The Tusk Lion Trail

The charity Tusk currently has a pride of lions spread across Central London – an art trail with a difference.

Forty seven life-sized lion sculptures, designed and made by some of the planet’s foremost artists, musicians and sportspeople, are roaming streets around the city to highlight the threats currently faced by ‘the King of Beasts’, and to raise vital funds to support community conservation and livelihoods impacted by Covid-19 across Africa.

  2. What a fun trail to follow. I like the colours of the lion outside of the Canadian Embassy, with a close second of the Trafalgar Square lion.

    We have only one such type of trail regionally, the buttertart trail. There’s a map sent out to indicate all the restaurants/bakery’s that make & sell the best buttertarts, the idea is to drive about & sample the tarts, then vote for the best.

      1. Wikipedia says: Butter tarts were common in pioneer Canadian cooking, and they remain a characteristic pastry of Canada, considered a recipe of genuinely Canadian origin. It is primarily eaten in and associated with the English-speaking provinces of Canada.
        The big, often heated discussion is, do you put raisins & nuts in or just one of the two. I’m in the camp of both & I do prefer pecans over walnuts 🙂
