Me on Monday

It was a week of blue skies, sunshine and chilly temperatures.

  • The Brainy One and I spent several hours over a few days tidying up in our back garden. The redesign isn’t due to begin for a few weeks, but it’s amazing what a spot of serious weeding and pruning overhanging bushes and shrubs can do.
  • The Brainy One and I visited a garden centre.
  • Our youngest great nephew turned one. We’re looking forward to a family party outside after May 17th.
  • Hanging out with my SiL in her garden isn’t getting old any time soon. 🙂
  • We booked tickets for our first drive-in Air Show of the season.
  • The Boy has settled back into his in-person school routine. 🙂
  • I made several deliveries to local charity shops – mostly clothes The Boy has outgrown and books.

  1. What a gloriously familiar week you had, it was rich with those things that “normal” life offers & requires. That tree in your photo is a lovely pink & it looks s fluffy. Does TB still have to do weekly COVID testing? If yes, hopefully that relaxes soon.

  2. I think it’s because we have stuck to the rules for so long now, that a little bit of freedom and normality feels such a huge relief! So pleased to see you had such a good week.

  3. Sounds like a good week. After a delivery from Amazon, I finally had a nice size box I could use to gather up the various piles of clothes, and old kitchen stuff I had set aside for charity. Hubby even dropped them off for me while he did his other errands. It is nice to be able to reclaim that space.

    1. Ha, my husband stayed at home while I walked to the charity shop! 🙂 I’m working through my clothes now, so there’ll be another bin bag or two to go to Oxfam.

  4. Lots of similarities here … sunshine but chilly (for us) temperatures, hanging out on the patio thinking about some yard work, and several bags delivered to local charity outreaches (now that they are once again accepting donations). Hope you’re having a great week!

  5. That’s a beautiful tree … One of the best things about the suburbs are the gardens, I always think. ooh, is there remodelling on the horizon? I do love to see garden designs, so I am hoping you’ll share progress with us. It’s very cold here too, so I don’t feel able to do any clothes-clearing yet but am looking forward to it when I can. I’m tired wearing winter jumpers to keep warm!

    1. That pretty tree is in our local park. Our garden design won’t be ‘Ground Force’ – some new planting, new lawn, new garden furniture and the driveway/patio will hopefully be re-sanded/relaid.
