Scrapbooking in 2021 | Filling in the Gaps

Having squared away all the missing layouts from 2020, I’ve moved on to gaps in the albums featuring my nephew and The Boy’s current album (which is Volume 7 – I had thought that when I revamped The Boy’s early albums last year, I would free up album and storage space. Not so. All I ended up doing was spreading the layouts across the all of his albums).

Now that my nephew is in his 20s, there are a lot less photos coming my way and as he’s not on social media very much, there’s limited opportunity for me to snaffle any. However, I still had a few from a couple of years ago waiting for a home. And as I didn’t ask him for permission to show his face on this here blog, I’ve gone for a spot of camouflage. 🙂

Back in 2015, he was living in Texas and I used the Land That I Love range from Doodlebug Design to add a pop of colour and a nod to America.

Very little of early 2020 had been added to The Boy’s album, so I made a list of what I wanted to include of our pre-lockdown year. I began with when we went to Bicester Scramble and The Boy becoming a teenager. 🙂

What have you been creating?

  1. Isn’t it frustrating when a steady supply of new pictures dries up! 😉 Good that you were able to capture the spirit of his ‘coming of age’ while he was in the US.
Ah, pre lockdown photos, those good old days when we went out where we wanted, when we wanted, with anyone we wanted! Definitely needing recording.

  2. You’ve chosen those papers really well for your American theme – the pages look wonderful. I have a real fondness for your tag layout – love the colours and textures and yet the design lets it all breathe.

  3. Do you struggle to find scrapbooking supplies? Do you order most of your things online? I just love these pages. And I haven’t seen anything as cute in the few stores here that still sell paper and embellishments. The Americana themed paper and decor is really nice. I like that it isn’t just navy, red and white. Love the second pages, too. The bakery garland you featured is adorable.

    1. London has a distinct lack of stores selling scrapbook supplies, so I order online. I follow most of the big brands on Instagram and see what they have due for release … and then hope it comes to an online UK store.
The bakery garland is simply a bunch of punched circles with added stickers – I saw it first on the Doodlebug IG feed. 🙂
