For the Love of Books | Titles on Pre-order

I’ve a number of books on pre-order – more than enough titles to see me through another 6-8 months at home. 🙂 Please note that the release dates are for the UK – other countries may well have an earlier one.

The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon (Kindle; released on 26 January): Public radio producer Shay comes up with the brilliant idea for a show where exes deliver relationship advice live on air, but unfortunately her boss wants her to host the show with the station’s newest employee — a man that she’s never actually dated before, and whom she doesn’t particularly like.

Make Up Break Up by Lily Menon (Kindle; released 11 February): This steamy and hilarious novel is set to focus on rival app developers Annika Dev, who is devoted to helping people make their relationships work, and Hudson Craft, whose app helps people break up as quickly and efficiently as possible. Now that the unlikely pair are being forced to share an office building and compete for funding things are bound to get interesting fast.

Life’s Too Short by Abby Jimenez (paperback; released 20 April): Vanessa lives life on her own terms — one day at a time, every day to its fullest. She isn’t willing to waste a moment or miss out on an experience when she has no idea whether she shares the same fatal genetic condition as her mother. Besides, she has way too much to do, traveling the globe and showing her millions of YouTube followers the joy in seizing every moment.
But after her half-sister suddenly leaves Vanessa in custody of her infant daughter, she is housebound, on mommy duty for the foreseeable future, and feeling totally out of her element.
The last person she expects to show up offering help is the unbelievably hot lawyer who lives next door, Adrian Copeland. After all, she barely knows him. But as they get closer, Vanessa realizes that her carefree ways and his need for a structured plan could never be compatible for the long term. Then again, she should know better than anyone that life’s too short to fear taking the biggest risk of all. . .

Just Last Night by Mhairi McFarlane (paperback; released 4 May): Eve, Justin, Susie, and Ed have been friends since they were teenagers. Now in their thirties, the four are as close as ever, Thursday night bar trivia is sacred, and Eve is still secretly in love with Ed. Maybe she should have moved on by now, but she can’t stop thinking about what could have been. And she knows Ed still thinks about it, too.
But then, in an instant, their lives are changed forever.
In the aftermath, Eve’s world is upended. As stunning secrets are revealed, she begins to wonder if she really knew her friends as well as she thought. And when someone from the past comes back into her life, Eve’s future veers in a surprising new direction…
They say every love story starts with a single moment. What if it was just last night?

Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid (hardback, signed; released 27 May): Set during one fateful night in the 1980s, Malibu Rising chronicles an end-of-summer bash thrown by the wealthy Riva family, and the ways in which it changes the course of each of the four Riva siblings’ lives.

The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang (paperback; released 19 August): Quan Diep is a highly eligible up-and-coming CEO who is overwhelmed by all of the women who are suddenly interested in him, while Anna Sun is determined to not let her OCD stand in the way of her keeping Quan from ruining her smitten sister’s engagement.

Do you have any titles on pre-order? If so, please share in the comments. 🙂

  1. I both chuckled & groaned at the same moment when you said enough books to get you through 6-8 months at home. Yes that does seem to be our reality. There seems to be a definite theme to your order. Looking forward to your reviews of them.

I have a paperback book collection being delivered to keep me quite content (or resolved); all of Louise Penny’s books that I do not currently own. I know that she has a book release scheduled for release in August – no title has been shared as yet, so no order as yet.

Happy Weekend – schools out for 2 days! 🙂

  2. Oh, what a great list of books to look forward to this year! I see a recurring/continuing romance theme.

I actually ended the year with one (of my two) to-read shelves completely empty … so, I ordered a batch of books to fill it up. 🙂 I snapped a photo yesterday when the last one on order arrived & will be sharing soon.
