This will be my 13th year documenting December and for a very brief moment, I thought about not doing it. The on-going global pandemic will mean a December without us hosting our annual Christmas Drinks Party (a firm favourite), without The Brainy One and I spending a day Christmas shopping (which in reality means a good lunch and hot apple cider 🙂 ), without good friends coming to stay over the weekend of the Strictly final, without a trip into the West End for a Christmas show with those friends, without the three of us kicking off the beginning of the Christmas holidays by going for our traditional Panto-and-pizza afternoon/evening, without us being with our loved ones on Christmas Day and/or Boxing Day (most likely).

But with all those things, and more, missing from December, this year is actually the perfect time to document the festive season – a Covid-Christmas making Christmas 2020 like no other.
I’m using a 6×8 album from Simple Stories and journaling cards from the ever-fabulous In A Creative Bubble. The patterned paper is from Doodlebug Design. Embellishments will have come from the bottom of my festive stash. 🙂
I assembled and stitched a multi-pocket, just because. You can download the pocket instructions here.
I haven’t added any numerals yet, because it’s likely that I will switch the pages around as I go through December.
December Daily | my favourite project of the year.
Will you be joining in this year?
It’s tough to think of all the things we will be missing this year, all those traditions that you hold so dear to your heart. Oh how we will appreciate them when we can do them all again! The lead up to Christmas will be different, and that’s why it’s important to document it this year. I always enjoy your December Daily pages – not long until they start now!

I think that it was realising just how different December is going to be this year that was the decider.

WOW your foundations pages are fab. I also like the little card dressed up with the house. It is going to be a very different Christmas holiday season.
I’ve been searching for online events & I found that the Trans Siberian Orchestra is hosting a streaming live concert mid December … initially I was thrown by the cost, but then reality checked in – it is only the cost of one ticket we’d spend for an in person concert. There are several drive by events in our area – so yes there will be fun things in the DD 🙂
Thanks to Lydia for sharing the pocket page instructions.
