September meant that the Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness was approaching. It also meant that Shimelle was running her annual class, Learn Something New Every Day.
As with the previous few years, I’m recording what I learned throughout September here.

Day 26: Sorting out my sock drawer is strangely therapeutic. 🙂
Day 27: Compiling a dog-walking playlist from songs mentioned in a novel is a fun way to spend half an hour. 🙂
Day 28: Chasing up retailers for a refund is a pain. I resorted to the threat of legal action.
Day 29: Always worth checking that the park’s café is actually open before arranging to meet your friends there.
Day 30: Even after almost 4 years in office, the current US President can still make me incandescent with rage.
I haven’t done a playlist but I am nodding my head in agreement with the others!
It took 5 months to get our Ryanair refund and only then after trying a tactic that my daughter in law used. I wonder how long we would have waited if we hadn’t done that? It isn’t fair of businesses to hold onto your money when the law regarding refunds is so clear. As for Day 30 … there are no words!

It’s really not right how long some companies take over refunds. EasyJet is another airline that takes far too long to complete refunds.

You certainly did learn a lot in the month of September. I also find tidying my drawers therapeutic, it also comes with resolve to never allow the untidiness to creep in again. Rather than making a playlist, I will cook the food talked about in a novel. As for Day 30th … wait for it, it’s going to get worse!

I can’t believe a) just what POTUS is currently spouting/tweeting and b) how much I am yelling at the TV/radio whenever I listen to him spout the current drivel …

I have had to curtail my exposure to Day 30 for fear of rupturing something. And good for you for persisting on Day 28. There is something about tidiness in a seemingly chaotic period which helps one to feel more in control! Sorry to read about Day 29 though – that must have been a disappointment.

Day 29 turned out fine – we turned up as planned, but with our own take away cups of our preferred hot beverage. 🙂 I’d spotted the cafe was closed during my morning dog walk and sent out a reminder to BYO – worked a treat! 🙂

Lots of great lessons this year! I find organizing anything (socks, books, patterned paper) quite therapeutic. And it’s best not to even watch the news here if there’s any desire to maintain sanity. Three more weeks ’til the actual election, then I imagine there will be a round of recounts & waiting & more spouting from both sides.

The news here is giving the US election to Joe Biden, but who knows if the polls are to be believed.
I always enjoy a spot of decluttering. 🙂
