Learn Something New Every Day | September 2020, Days 21-25

September means that the Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness is approaching. It also means that Shimelle is running her annual class, Learn Something New Every Day.
As with the previous few years, I’m recording what I’ve learned throughout September here.

Day 21: Snapping my retainer has proved to be costly. 😦

Day 22: Covid-19 restrictions are likely to be in place for at least another six months. Hard not to feel disheartened.

Day 23: Getting out of bed at 06.30 for an early morning Step class isn’t so easy now that autumn has arrived.

Day 24: The Track and Trace app has finally gone live across England and Wales.

Day 25: Sock-wearing weather appears to have arrived. 🙂

  1. It wasn’t a great week was it? When I heard him mention six months, my heart sank. It was hard enough during the nice weather but to go through it all again in the winter is not a nice prospect.
Sock wearing weather is most definitely here, I think Summer has finally packed its bags and headed off to the other side of the world!

  2. So sorry to read about your retainer – hoping you can get a replacement/have it fixed easily. I’ve even got my socks on inside the house :). Oh golly, Covid-19, what to say? It feels like such a long slog with no real end in sight. I’m doing a day at a time.

  3. Oh dear a snapped retainer, I do hope it didn’t happen while you were wearing! Another six months of restrictions; we are also slowly returning to lock down life … it’s all those COVIDIOTS out there that make the efforts of those of us following the guidelines, for naught! This side of the pond it is the 20-39 years & I will say it, they are a selfish generation or as our provincial Premiere calls them, “yahoos, brainless yahoos” One good thing is that “they” are finally making good the threat of very expensive fines for gatherings; $10,000. for the host & $850. per attendee.

  4. Oh yes, six more months of restrictions is sooooooo disheartening. A little fall weather has arrived here as well – I had to wear long sleeves for our early morning walk.

Great job keeping up with the “lessons” this month. I did well for the first half of the month, then just dropped right off. Maybe I’ll get a post up with the lessons I did learn or re-learn soon.
