The 100 Day Project | 100 Days Later

Of the three projects I’ve completed for The 100 Day Project, this year’s has been my runaway favourite. 🙂 I didn’t miss a single day and I had a lot of fun strolling down Memory Lane.

I began with writing down memories and stories and adding photos, if I had them, from the seven different stations I served on. I’d filled the first volume and begun the second by the time I began writing about posting number six. And this is where I am on Day 100 …

Once I’ve finished writing about my job, I’ll begin the topics that rounded out my life back then: how I lived, friendships, love affairs, fashion (and the accompanying disasters!), cars, music memories (always a good idea), film memories and social life.

I’m nowhere near finished with this topic and it’s likely that I’ll be moving onto volume three. I’m grateful for that box of negatives, even though I’m cross with myself for not storing them correctly.

I didn’t miss a single day of the last 100 days … partly because I was at home (that all 100 days of this project coincided with the UK lockdown has been an unexpected gift), and partly becauseI loved this project far more than I thought I would.

It felt good to have a reminder that my life has been so much more than how it is right now. I had important jobs, jobs where hundreds of lives depended on me doing it properly. I lived and worked in places that many people knew only from an atlas. I had experiences that many can only dream of. I was good excellent at what I did, and have written proof of that excellence.

These last 100 days have reminded me that I’ve lived a life to be proud of, that I’ve served my country with pride and honour, and that somewhere along the line, I may have just made a difference.

And as for 2021’s 100 Day Project? I’ll be there.
