For The Love of Books | The To Be Read (TBR) Pile

Some people are stockpiling food; I am stockpiling books. Waiting to be read, once I’ve got through The Mirror and the Light, are:

Grown Ups by Marian Keyes: I heard this being discussed on the Radio 2 Book Club.

The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver: this is the latest offering from the author of the terrific One Day in December.

Number the Stars by Lois Lowry: this was recommended by the lovely Melissa.

The Switch by Beth O’Leary: this is the latest offering from the author of the terrific The Flatshare.

Don’t Overthink It by Anne Bogel: because both The Brainy One and I are guilty of overthinking. Anne runs the popular Modern Mrs Darcy blog.

What’s in your TBR pile?

  1. I’m going to pop back here when I need some inspiration for new reads :). I haven’t got a TBR list – life is too busy here to finish the book I’m currently reading!

  2. Thank you for the book suggestions. I has put a few of these books to my TBR list. We have been promised that our library will re-open April 6th & if it does I shall be the first in line to grab a few in case of a new level of lockdown.

  3. Hi Ruth, I found your blog from Deb at Deb’s World. I read and enjoyed The Flatshare. I just posted what I read year-to-date on my blog. My next book is Dear Life by Alice Munro. Thanks for your list. Stay safe and enjoy reading.

  4. Oh, I just know you’ll enjoy Number the Stars. (Thanks for the shout out!)

I’ve been steadily working through my to-read shelf this year. Just stating Recursion, which we heard about on the What Should I Read Next Podcast with Ann Bogel.

  5. So So agree on Stockpiling books. I second this. Out of the books mentioned above, I enjoy Marian Keyes and Anne Bogel. I love Ann Bogel’s Podcasts ( A loud shout out to her.)
My TBR pile consists of Three Secret Cities by Matthew Reilly, Don’t Overthink It by Anne Bogel, The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown, The Keeper of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan, The Cafe by the Sea by Jenny Colgan.
Well, the TBR list never ends, but this is what I have a hard stop for myself for April. Cheers and Happy Reading 🙂
