The Outlander Series, books 4 and 5 by Diana Gabaldon: I finished book 4 this month and began wading through book 5 (my copy of The Fiery Cross has a whopping 1,412 pages; as I type this post, I am currently on page 645). I don’t mind admitting that, as much as I love the central characters in this series, I’ll be glad to pick up something different next month.
I’m currently trying to read a book, I’ve picked up three times & put down 3 times … It’s called The Ten Thousand Doors of January. As for the Outlander series of books, I tried, I really tried to like, but just could not get into them.

I appreciate that Outlander isn’t to everyone’s taste … and I’m ready for a break. I haven’t heard of TTDoJ – I’ll look it up.

Oh gosh, that sounds a bit of a trial … Good for you for persevering. I’m afraid that if I can’t get into a book these days, I just abandon it.

I like this series of books very much, it’s just that I forget how wordy the author likes to be!

I only got so far into that series and then just gave up. Way to long to work through I decided.

I’m plodding on, but I agree that the books are long!
