September means that the Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness is approaching. It also means that Shimelle is running her annual class, Learn Something New Every Day.
Like the last few years, I’m recording what I’ve learned throughout September here.

Day 11: Dental hygienists are not allowed to wear nail varnish at work. Who knew?
Day 12: Helen Hoang‘s new novel is called The Heart Principle but there is no specific information available re a publication date.
Day 13: Dog walker friends are an invaluable resource when looking for reliable tradesmen.
Day 14: Wearing vintage-style clothing is a lot of fun, although high-waisted trousers probably look better on me if worn with big pants! .
Day 15: The joy in an hour sitting on the sofa with a cuppa, a book and Tilly curled up next to me cannot be underestimated.
I think banning nail varnish (polish) on a Dental Hygienist is a really good thing – I wouldn’t want that flaking off during a treatment! (col). I tried for a similar hour yesterday, the cats had other ideas about quiet time. I think your photo shows a really nice spot for a wander.

The ban on nail polish is apparently more to do with bacteria, although my hygienist wears gloves.

Well it is true, one really does learn something new every day! You would think that wearing gloves would be hygienic enough to be able to wear nail varnish – I shall definitely be looking carefully next time I have an appointment!
Day 15 sounds brilliant – every day should have an hour of that.

I’d quite like a few more days like day 15!
