Dior at the Victoria & Albert Museum

Thanks to the generosity of a friend, I was able to catch the Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition at London’s Victoria & Albert museum.

It was everything I hoped it would be and I am someone who is usually ambivalent about fashion. I prefer the earlier designs, dating from 1947 and Dior’s New Look, but many in the predominantly female crowd were gushing over designs from John Galliano and Raf Simons.

My favourite dress

Wearing this, I’d feel like an extra in Mad Men
Shades of green and ruffles are not me, but I do love this
Beautiful and elegant

“In the world today, haute couture is one of the last repositories of the marvellous.”

The Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition has now closed, but if you’ve an interest in fashion, the V&A is currently running an exhibition about Mary Quant (until February 2020).

  1. Scrumptious! The rose print dress would be one I’d like to wear – what’s not to like, it’s pink, it’s flowers! Your favourite dress would be another one I’d wear too – what’s not to like about a crinoline! And for good measure I’d throw in the first one, very elegant & tailored.
