Learn Something New Every Day | Days 1-5

September means that the Season of mist and mellow fruitfulness is approaching. It also means that Shimelle is running her annual class, Learn Something New Every Day.
Like the last few years, I’m recording what I’ve learned throughout September here.

Day 1: Filling in a passport application always takes far longer than anticipated.

Day 2: The Summer holidays turned out to be as never as bad as feared in mid-July.

Day 3: After missing six weeks during the summer holidays, the return to the pool at the gym this morning felt like my own personal back-to-school moment.

Day 4: Upgrading a mobile ‘phone contract will always take twice as long as expected. Especially if you want to upgrade two contracts.

Day 5: Supper at the pub is always a good idea. 🙂

  1. This made me smile! I remember how long it took Rachel to do Leo and Rosie’s passport applications, it’s a wonder she got them done before we had to fly out! And the mobile phone comment too – why? Why does it take SO long? It shouldn’t be that hard should it?! Supper at the pub is ALWAYS a good idea!!!

  2. Paperwork, I always see such a pained look on patient’s face when I hand them the clip with the forms to complete, maybe because we are now so use to online stuff, handwriting seems daunting (col). Oh I wish we had a local pub for a meal, mostly it’s pick up on pizza on the way home … still it’s a night off 🙂
