The lovely Mary-Lou of Patio Postcards blog pointed me recently in the direction of Brené Brown‘s new weekly gratitude practice, TGIF. Most of us would recognise TGIF as an acronym for Thank God It’s Friday, but in Brené’s world it stands for Trusting, Grateful, Inspired and Fun.

Trusting: that I have enough of a Summer timetable in place for the next 6 weeks.
Grateful: to the staff member from The Boy Child’s first school who called unexpectedly to explain the real reason why she was leaving her post. (We are still very much involved with the school’s grapevine.)
Inspired: by this post. I can’t ever truly see myself upping sticks for a year, but …
Fun: to make time to watch a few of my favourite Summer movies.
I’m sure that you have risen to the challenge of being social event co-ordinator for the next 6 weeks! The trick is to have enough things to do and visit whilst allowing ‘down’ time where you are just home and relaxed.
Yes that thought of having a mature Gap year is appealing, I bet she has some wonderful adventures.

I hope I’ve got the mix right … it looks good on paper! And I have a post live next week talking about down time activities.

What an adventure filled post … I always think having a plan helps to ensure that at the end of summer, there’s not too much “oh I wish we had …. TBC’s previous teacher does have an adventure awaiting her. Not sure I would want to do but I do enjoy reading about others world wide adventures. Yes to summer movies.
