New York City | The High Line

The High Line is almost 1.5 miles of former elevated train tracks and can be found on Manhattan’s West side between the newly redeveloped and reopened Hudson Yards and 14th Street.

The High Line’s planting design is inspired by the self-seeded landscape that grew wild for 25 years after the trains stopped running.

The High Line is also dedicated to showcasing art in public spaces.

The High Line has become a world-renowned inspiration for how cities can transform industrial infrastructure into beautiful, hybrid public spaces. It’s worth an hour or two of your time (and there are plenty of pop-up food stalls and rest rooms).
