Pollock’s Toy Museum is a museum and small toy shop housed in two atmospheric historic buildings in London’s Fitzrovia.
It is a collection of mainly Victorian toys. On display in six small rooms and two winding staircases are dolls, teddy bears, tin toys, dolls’ houses, puppets, toy theatres, toy soldiers and more besides.
Benjamin Pollock hand printed, constructed and coloured much of the toy theatre material housed in the museum today. There’s a small entrance fee, as the museum does not receive any outside funding, and you can be in and out within 30 minutes. I think that although we didn’t actively dislike the museum, we won’t feel the need to return any time soon, if at all.
There is no evidence to suggest that I persuaded The Boy Child to wear a jumper that would match the Museum’s exterior … or that I then posted this matchy-matchy image on Instagram.
