The annual Summer art installation at the Serpentine Pavilion in London’s Hyde Park is firmly in place. Which is no mean feat when you consider that The Mastaba (basically a pyramid without a peak) is actually floating on the Serpentine.Designed by internationally acclaimed artist Christo, it is his first major public, outdoor work in the UK. The footprint of the sculpture is approximately 30 metres wide (at the 60° slanted walls) x 40 metres long, taking up approximately 1% of the total surface area of the lake.
The Mastada is on public view, free of charge, until the 9th September.
That is seriously impressive! Wow.
