The Gogo Getaway had a specific theme for its 10 year anniversary. The special guest designer was Shimelle Laine and all the products used in each and every class were from her latest paper range for American Crafts, A Box of Crayons.
Friday evening’s class was called Berry Clever, and involved paper folding and some fussy cutting. On Saturday morning I took a class called Crayon-athon, which involved, as you might guess, a white crayon and a fun technique called ‘smooshing‘. It was a fun class, but I should have used more pressure when applying the crayon.Saturday afternoon was hosted by Shimelle and here’s where I confess two things – I didn’t like her designs and only one design is complete (and I still don’t like it, even after I’d adapted her ideas).
On Sunday, the Colourful Life class was in two parts. The first bit involved stitching and a hand cut toucan. Only to a fellow scrapbooker could you say the words, “a hand cut toucan” and have people know what you meant. The second part involved more stitching, some colouring and hand cutting sun rays. I adapted the design to accommodate my longer title, which is why it’s slightly off-centre.
Some amazing techniques. I think you did really well taking the ideas & making them your own. Fussy cutting or hand cutting, your Toucan is quite cute. May I suggest for the ones you aren’t liking (yet) maybe put them out on your craft desk & glance at them throughout the day, something will strike you as how you want to “fix” or improve upon

That’s exactly what I did and a quick ‘fix’ on one of them has worked a treat! I love my toucan!

Lots of sewing going on with these pages too! I particularly like the St Brelades Bay page, the sunburst effect works so well with your photos.
