Scrapbooking | What I’ve Been Working On

As someone who scrapbooks pretty much every day and regularly shares what I’ve created on my Instagram feed, I haven’t shared a lot here of late.  With December arriving on Friday and the advent (intended pun, ahem) of December Daily, here’s a look at a few of the recently completed pages now gracing assorted albums around our home:

IMG_6403This one began as a trial piece, as I used just two offcuts of patterned paper and a whole bunch of stickers.  I wasn’t convinced that the design would work, but I ended up pleased with the finished look.  IMG_6361This one is now in the Los Hermanos album and records our eldest great nephew’s second birthday.  Again, I went for simplicity; no patterned paper and a small selection of embellishments.    IMG_6359This design was inspired by a layout I saw on Instagram and involved two things I don’t do much of; machine stitching and layering.IMG_6352The travel-themed embellishments are from a pack by October Afternoon and it’s fair to say that I’ve had them for years.  It felt good to use them.

What have you been creating lately?

  1. Really nice layouts. On your first layout such a nice balance of embellishments to photos, the grouping to the right is a nice resting place for the eye.

  2. Gorgeous layouts. I scrapbook, occasionally nowadays, but I have a real issue with ‘white space’. I tend to overdo things, overfill pages, add too much. The result is messy so am retraining myself. It is hard but I am more pleased with the final result. I adore your first page!

  3. I am a lazy scrapper. I matte, layer and stick on the page and move on. I tend to grab a pen and journal onto the page as the words flow with the memories brought out by the pictures. My craft room is stacked with cr*p and I have to move everything to create another bedroom for Wicked Uncle Cliff to visit after Christmas, while Cousin Russell is still staying with us in the official guest room. *sigh*

  4. Oh, fantastic layouts! I haven’t scrapped much lately and I’m really missing it. I have been doing some Bible journaling after a break for our vacation. I want to Bible journaling daily this month (plus I’m teaching a couple of classes) and am hoping to set aside 2-3 days to just scrapbook some layouts with our trip photos.
