And So It Begins | The Summertime Jane Austen Book Club

Officially, reading of Sanditon began on 1st July.
Let’s begin with a confession, shall we?
I forgot that Saturday was the 1st.
Right up until I went to bed early that evening in order to read.
I ended up putting my selection of magazines aside and made a start on the first few pages.
Which, again in the spirit of honesty, on Sunday, I couldn’t remember reading.
Sunday afternoon, before tackling the ironing mountain, I had another go.
I find that cake and a mug of tea always help the reading process, don’t you?
As this post goes live, I’m in the middle of Chapter 7,
and while I won’t give away any spoilers, I’m finding one character particularly annoying.
Were you able to find a copy of Sanditon?
Are you reading along with us?
Don’t forget to share; see here for details how to do exactly that.
Happy reading!

  1. I think your sponge looks SO tempting, so yes I totally agree a mug of tea & a treat always make book reading perfection. I posted my first review of what I have read so far. I could not find an actual copy, so I am reading on my e-reader …

  2. Is it a male character? One who seems full of his own self importance?! Sounds like his family could all do with a spell in a health resort- or are they all hypochondriacs?
