(They’re formal when addressing teachers at The Boy Child’s school.)
Teacher: “I am rather.”
The Boy Child: “Yes. You look miserable.”
(We need to work on that directness.)

maybe! I'm rejoicing in that fact that he's reading emotions in faces. Cos that's one of the things, isnt it?

Ah yes, directness. At times endearing when he was younger, less so as a teenager! The upside being he usually realises when he has done it now and will follow up with, “Oh, that was rude, wasn't it? Sorry.”
