Danish Birthday Traditions

It appears that Danes are encouraged to fly their flag on special occasions – both national and familial.

Our friend turns 45 today.

To my alarm, his wife and eldest daughter counted out 45 candles for the cake.

The Boy Child would have been all for calling the fire brigade, if he had seen it in its full glory.  But, as it turned out, he was poorly during the morning.  He is reviving through a plate of dry rations, a cup of water and Tin Tin via iTunes.

Everyone else has gone out to lunch.
Me? I’m eating leftovers from breakfast.
Summer 500: 288.
