Sharing a Cuppa

Hi, hi, I know it’s a bit late, but have you the time for a cuppa?
You have?  Excellent.
How are things with you?
Here, we are looking at one more week of summer holiday before the adventure that is Year 2 begins for The Boy Child.  He’s ready.  I know I am!
I have one more adventure up my sleeve.  We are off to York tomorrow in order to visit the National railway Museum and see Mallard.  What’s that?  You don’t know who or what Mallard is?  She’s a steam train and still holds the world record for the fastest speed of a steam train.  She reached 126 mph back in 1938.  Sorry, The Boy Child’s enthusiasm for all things locomotive has rubbed off on me.

You knew that I would have made an mini scrapbook, didn’t you?  Nothing too big, but plenty of space for notes, tickets, leaflets and photos.
I’ve still lots to do this evening, so do forgive me if I begin to potter about.  I’ve sent the boys out with the pooch so that you and I could have five minutes to ourselves.  We’re probably safe for another 15 minutes or so.  Do you have a dog?  Any other pets?  Our pooch is such an integral part of our family, it’s hard to imagine life without him.  We were able to meet an 8-week-old Labradoodle puppy this afternoon.  He belongs to friends of ours.  And his cuteness is almost enough to make me want another pooch in the family.

Almost, but not quite.
I can hear the boys at the gate.  You’re going to go?  Well, thanks so much for dropping by and do come again soon … during the day when we’ll have more time.
There might even be cake.

This post has been brought to you in association with Abi’s invitation to share a cup of tea.

  1. Hello Ruth. Thank you for that lovely catch up! What a cute dog! We only have a cat but mum is keen to get a dog as soon as she retires. Enjoy your trip to York. I have only visited once but am eager to go again!

  3. Say hello to Mallard for me. I am going there one day and will be able to see her for myself. I just LOVE that engine. We went on the Vale of Rheidol Railway last weekend which satisfied my need for steam, for a while anyway.

    Have a lovely time.

  4. You're going to have a great time in York – and how organised to have your mini book ready and waiting to be filled!
There certainly are a lot of poodle crosses around nowadays aren't there? Coco is a Cavapoo – 1/2 Cavalier 1/2 poodle but she looks an awful lot like your labradoodle friend.
Good luck with Year 2 – I'm sure you are both ready for the next step.
