31 Things: Day 26

Day 26 of Ali’s latest class at BPC ~ 31 Things.  Ali describes the class thus: 31 Things is about capturing life right now but will be much more in-depth on a single daily subject than the documentation you might be used to with projects like Week in the Life or Project Life. This workshop is an opportunity to get specific pieces of your story told with the simple goal of telling more.
Day 26 | Covet:
I’m not materialistic, so there isn’t much that I might covet.
Then I thought about the people that I admire and the reasons why I admire them.
Seems I might be coveting things after all.
I covet my sister’s sense of style.  She has the knack of looking thoroughly put together without even trying.
I covet the scrap booking ability of the likes of Ali Edwards and Shimelle Laine.  Not specifically their scrap booking style, but more their ability to create amazing and original pages from nothing.
I covet women who make motherhood look easy and seamless.
I covet an undisturbed night’s sleep, followed by a wake-up time of later than 06.30am.
I covet a close circle of girlfriends.  I have never had this and for some reason, making friends in London is hard.  I have plenty of acquaintances but few friends.
I covet patience.  Patience is not one of my virtues.
I covet more time for just me and The Brainy One.
I covet a house that is also my home.  Chosen in partnership with The Brainy One.
I covet the arrival of summer.  Flaming June is something of a damp squib and I am tired of the cold and wet weather.

  1. My list would probably be similar to yours, in that it wouldn't really be material things on it…and I don't blame you for coveting the arrival of summer!

  2. Like you, there aren't many material things I covet. It would be interesting to see what I'd come up with in a list like this. Any time you fancy a coffee, let me know – I'm only an hours train journey from Victoria 😉 xx

  3. That's the first time anyone has ever said I have a sense of style so thank you very much :0) like you I don't have a close circle of girl friends so that would be nice. Maybe we could meet Rhona when DN and I visit in the summer?

  4. I think maybe you are being a bit hard on yourself – all the things you would love seem very reasonable to me 🙂 (and I suspect you have more friends and admirers than you realise..)

  5. I have a board of things I covet on Pinterest. Not that I covet the things themselves so much as what the things represent – an organized life, a freezer with delicious healthy meals just waiting to be defrosted, a clean living room… stuff I could do myself but with so much effort I just can't bring myself to do it.

  6. {I agree with Sian too!}

And I had to smile at your bit about your sister. I'm in the same boat – my sister is ALWAYS so well accessorized and looks amazing in anything she wears. ONCE IN A WHILE I manage that on accident, but rarely.
