… for a giveaway. I haven’t hosted one for about a year, maybe longer and I’m in the mood to spread a little cheer, as it were. Today, here in London, it is miserably grey and damp; outside looks black and white. Did you guess that November has never been my favourite month?
Talk of Christmas is appearing on blogs, a lot of us are preparing for Journal Your Christmas or December Daily or a combination of both. Our American cousins are preparing for Thanksgiving and the beginning of their Holiday season on Black Friday.
Me? I’ve ordered our turkey and received my December Daily kit from the US, but that’s pretty much it.
I need to make a list or two …
I have two of these sweet Christmas notebooks to giveaway (and will probably throw in a few more Christmassy things as well) and here’s what you need to do, should you wish to win one. Simply leave a comment sharing your favourite thing about the run-up the the big day. Giveaway will close at midnight (UK time) on Wednesday, 30 November and I’ll do the draw on Thursday, 1 December.
Life in West London; married to The Brainy One; mum to The Boy Child.
This is where I share most aspects of my everyday life.
I hope you'll stay awhile.

They are soo pretty! My favourite thing about the run up to Christmas is the excitement that the children show. I love it when they still haven't lost that belief, Having young grandchildren again is fabulous! and a great grandchild is the icing
I love that Emily still gets so excited about Christmas but the best part of the run up to Christmas for me is when all the presents are bought and wrapped and I can relax and enjoy the season 🙂
What's the kit like? Glad it arrived before December 🙂 xx
The run up to Christmas starts here after Mum's birthday on the 3rd. I love to get the decorations down from the loft, put the tree up and then sit in the lounge with just the tree lights lit and maybe a few candles.
This year thing won't really start until J gets back on the 17th. xxx
I love when the trees are up and decorated …and that will happen the first week of December…I also love playing Christmas music from mid-November! Alison xx
I love it when the kids put out their Christmas sacks with the sherry, mince pie and carrot under the tree! A little smattering of snow would add to the atmosphere!
My favourite things in the run up to Christmas … rolling out some clay for making new handmade christmas treehearts , threading some cinnamon onto apple slices and dry then over the fire, stirring up some mulled wine and fishing out some bedsocks to warm those frozen toes 🙂
I love the excitement shown by my OH before midnight as we open our presents then a tradition started by my mother when we were little and carried on by me. He is just like a kid himself.
I love the planning. Really. I love making lists of gifts, of things for our holiday elf to do, holiday books to read to the boys and cookies to make. I also really love decorating the tree.
that's such a cute notebook! My favourite thing in the run up? sharing it with friends around the world, and seeing them share their special time of the year!
Super cute notebook! Thanks for the chance to win. :o)
I love getting gifts ready and wrapped for giving! I have a hard time waiting till Christmas and usually ask Carrie and Doug if they'd like to open just one…
Ohhh… lovely notebooks Ruth. What I love about the run up to Christmas is the expectation and the planning. I hope to make lots this year, crackers, decorations and gifts, and the preparation is great fun providing you keep it in perspective.

It has to be decorating the tree with baubles that each have their own importance & memories 🙂

Favourite thing about the run up? I love all of it, but I do enjoy that peaceful moment right at the end, when you realise it has all come together
