~ Mr. Heron, on our local pond ~
I’ve always liked herons because, I think, of their grace and elegance. And because if you ever wanted to know what a pterodactyl looked like, you only have to look at a heron.
However, I was none too pleased to learn from my neighbour that the reason Mr. Heron hangs around our local pond is because of the baby ducklings and moorhens.
He wants them for his lunch!

My parents had a heron that used to come and eat the fish out of the pond when they lived in SA. They couldn't understand what was happening to the fish until my dad saw the heron “fishing” one day.

Nature can be so cruel! But that heron is an incredible looking bird. Poor little creatures he is snacking on!
