HSMSHS on Facebook: Fence

Today’s word on the HSMSHS page on Facebook is fence: 1) a barrier enclosing an area, typically consisting of posts connected by wire, wood, etc. 2) a large upright obstacle in steeplechasing, showjumping, or cross-country. 3) informal a dealer in stolen goods. 4) a guard or guide on a plane or other tool.

Here you can see the safety barrier on the crossroads of a very busy junction near DS’s nursery, which fits the dictionary definition. For today’s purposes, it’s a fence, but I accept you may want to refer to it as a railing.
