Blogging For Scrapbookers: Day 2

Today’s prompt was about whether a blog should be private or public and how best to manage it. Because, of course, as we sadly know, not all people who read blogs are normal like us blogger scrappers!! When I began my blog in February last year, my husband made it perfectly clear that he did not want to be identified by name or have where we live specifically to be identifiable. A perfectly reasonable request, I thought, and still do. I have chosen to blog, he hasn’t. Hence, for the purpose of this blog, DH refers to my husband, as in darling husband; DS is my son, Sib is my sister, Granny is my mum, BIL is my brother-in-law, BF is my best friend, the pooch/pup is my dog …. you get the idea, don’t you? I would ask that those of you who do know our real names to not mention them on here, please. As an illustration to this, here is a case in point; I read a blog where the writer refers to herself as Mrs XX, her husband as Mr XX and their child as Munchkin. Last week she posted a photo of the child holding his birthday cake, upon which his name was clearly iced and visible! Doh!

Today’s mini LO is a reminder to me that I have a duty of care to my loved ones if I feature them on my blog. The journaling reads: Integrity simply means not violating one’s own identity ~ Erich Fromm.
