We were horrified to hear mention of my sister’s village in NE Scotland (where we plan on living in the near future) on the 9am News Bulletin on BBC Radio 2 this morning. They were in the process of being flooded after almost 2 days of rain. The River Spey runs along the edge of the village but that is well and truly in a deep dip so it couldn’t be that. It turns out that the burn had burst its banks and caused part of a bridge to be washed away! You can see the difference in these 2 photos of the salmon ladder: one taken by me last month and one taken by Sib this evening. We are very relieved to know that all members of the Scottish branch of the family are safely accounted for.
